Biography
Mikkel Boe Følsgaard is a Danish actor. He was born on 1 May 1984 in Rønne and raised in Gilleleje. After several unsuccessful applications, he was accepted to the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2008 and graduated in 2012.
While still a student, Følsgaard was cast as King Christian VII in Nikolaj Arcel's A Royal Affair (2012). His performance earned him the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the Berlin International Film Festival, making him the first Danish recipient of the award. He also received the Bodil Award for Best Actor.
Følsgaard is known for roles in Land of Mine (2015), The Rain (2018), The Chestnut Man (2021), Borgen (2010 and 2022), and Ehrengard: The Art of Seduction (2023), among others.
