Biography
Milton Gonçalves (9 December 1933 – 30 May 2022) was a Brazilian actor and director. Born in Monte Santo de Minas, Minas Gerais, he began his career in São Paulo with amateur theatre groups before joining a professional company and later the Teatro de Arena, where he worked with Augusto Boal.
He appeared in numerous films, including Kiss of the Spider Woman (1985) as Pedro, They Don't Wear Black Tie (1981) as Bráulio, Carandiru (2003) as Chico, and Pelé: Birth of a Legend (2016) as Waldemar de Brito. Gonçalves also directed several telenovelas for TV Globo and worked extensively in television. He was married to Oda Gonçalves from 1966 until her death in 2013 and was the father of actor Maurício Gonçalves.
