Biography
Mimi Pond is an American writer, cartoonist and illustrator. She wrote the first full-length episode of the animated series The Simpsons, "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire", which aired in 1989.
She has also written for other television series, including Designing Women (1993) and Pee-wee's Playhouse (1989). Pond is the author of five humour books and the graphic novels Over Easy (2014) and The Customer Is Always Wrong (2017). She received the Inkpot Award in 2014 and the PEN Center USA award for Graphic Literature Outstanding Body of Work.
