Biography
Mira Furlan was a Croatian-American actress and singer. She was born on 7 September 1955 in Zagreb and died on 20 January 2021 in Los Angeles. In the former Yugoslavia she was a leading stage, film and television actress, a member of the Croatian National Theatre and a frequent performer at major theatres across the country. She received two Golden Arena awards for best actress.
Furlan emigrated to the United States with her husband, director Goran Gajić, in 1991. In the US she became best known for playing Ambassador Delenn in the science-fiction series Babylon 5 (1993–1998) and the associated television films, for which she received Sci-Fi Universe Awards for best supporting actress in a genre series in 1996 and 1997. She also played Danielle Rousseau in Lost (2004–2010) and appeared in films including When Father Was Away on Business (1985).
