Biography
Mira Sorvino is an American actress. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in East Asian studies in 1989. Her early film role was as Sandra Goodwin in Quiz Show (1994).
Sorvino won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Mighty Aphrodite (1995). Other film credits include Romy and Michele's High School Reunion (1997) and Mimic (1997). On television, she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for portraying Marilyn Monroe in Norma Jean & Marilyn (1996) and received Golden Globe nominations for Human Trafficking (2005).
She is the daughter of actor Paul Sorvino and has been married to actor Christopher Backus since 2004.
