Biography
Miriam Pires, also credited as Míriam Pires or Mírian Pires, was a Brazilian actress. She was born on 20 April 1927 in Rio de Janeiro and died there on 7 September 2004.
She appeared in twelve films and over forty telenovelas. Her film credits include Kiss of the Spider Woman (1985) as Mother, Gabriela (1983) as Malvina's mother, A Summer Rain (1978) as Isaura, for which she received the Festival de Brasília award for Best Supporting Actress, Subway to the Stars (1987) and Copacabana (2001). On television she played roles such as Bemvinda Moura in Xica da Silva (1996) and in series including Os Normais (2001).
