Biography
Mišel Matičević is a German actor of Croatian descent. He was born on 22 April 1970 in West Berlin and studied acting at the Konrad Wolf Film University of Babelsberg from 1994 to 1998. During his training he appeared on stage with the Berliner Ensemble at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin and the Kleist Theater in Frankfurt an der Oder.
Since his screen debut in 1996, Matičević has worked extensively in German television and film. He is known for his role as Edgar 'The Armenian' Kasabian in the series Babylon Berlin (2017–), as well as appearances in Dogs of Berlin (2018), The Billion Dollar Code (2021) and Oktoberfest: Beer and Blood (2020). He won the Best Actor Award at the 2000 Thessaloniki International Film Festival for Lost Killers (1999) and the Adolf-Grimme-Preis for his performance in Im Angesicht des Verbrechens (2010).
