Biography
Mitsuko Mori was a Japanese actress. Born Mitsu Murakami on 9 May 1920 in Kyoto, she made her stage debut in 1935 and remained active until her death. She appeared in films including Scattered Clouds (1967) and provided the voice of Mrs Hii in Princess Mononoke (1997).
Mori was best known for her stage work, particularly her record-breaking performances in the play Hōrōki (A Wanderer's Notebook), which she performed more than 2,000 times. She received numerous honours, including the People's Honour Award in 2009, and died in Tokyo on 10 November 2012.
