Biography
Monica Hellström is a Danish film producer. She has produced and co-produced documentaries and fiction films, most notably the documentary Flee (2021).
She holds a BA in Film and Media Production from the University of Bedfordshire and an MA in Film from the University of Copenhagen. Hellström worked as a producer at Final Cut for Real from 2010 until 2022, when she founded her own company, Ström Pictures.
Her other credits include The Distant Barking of Dogs (2017), A House Made of Splinters (2022) and the fiction films The Nile Hilton Incident (2017) and Boy from Heaven (2022). She received three Academy Award nominations: two for Flee (Best Documentary Feature and Best Animated Feature) and one for A House Made of Splinters (Best Documentary Feature). In 2020 she was selected as EFP Producer on the Move at Cannes.
