Biography
Monica Howe is a British costume designer whose career spanned social realist films and literary adaptations for cinema and television between the mid-1970s and 2000.
Her early credits include Bugsy Malone (1976), for which she received a BAFTA nomination for Best Costume Design, Scum (1979) as wardrobe master, and Made in Britain (1983). She collaborated extensively with director Terence Davies, designing costumes for Distant Voices, Still Lives (1988), The Long Day Closes (1992), The Neon Bible and The House of Mirth (2000), the latter earning a further BAFTA nomination.
