Biography
Monique Dartonne is a French film editor, sound editor and director. Born in Paris in 1949, she began working in the industry in the late 1970s.
She has edited numerous French and Quebec films, with a long collaboration with director Tony Gatlif on titles including The Crazy Stranger (1997), Exiles (2004), Transylvania (2006) and Korkoro (2009). She edited Denis Villeneuve's Incendies (2010), for which she received the Genie Award for Best Editing and the Jutra Award for Editing.
As a director, she co-directed High Speed (1986) with Michel Kaptur; the film screened at the Cannes Film Festival, where the directors shared the Award of the Youth.
