Biography
Moon So-ri is a South Korean actress and filmmaker. Born on 2 July 1974 in Busan, she studied education at Sungkyunkwan University and began her career on stage with the theatre company Hangang. She made her feature film debut in Lee Chang-dong's Peppermint Candy (2000).
Her performance as a woman with cerebral palsy in Oasis (2002) brought international recognition and the Marcello Mastroianni Award at the Venice Film Festival. She has appeared in films including A Good Lawyer's Wife (2003), The Handmaiden (2016) as Hideko's aunt, and Little Forest (2018), as well as television series such as Hellbound (2021) and When Life Gives You Tangerines (2025). Moon has also directed and written films, and is married to director Jang Joon-hwan.
