Biography
Morenike Joela Evans is a television and film director, producer and writer. She has directed episodes of series including Grey's Anatomy (2023–2025), iCarly (2021–2023), How I Met Your Father (2022), Legacies (2021), Quantum Leap (2023), Raven's Home (2020–2022), Family Reunion (2020–2021) and Diary of a Future President (2021).
Originally from the Washington DC area, Evans earned an undergraduate degree from Prairie View A&M University and a Master's in Film from American University. She began her career producing entertainment and lifestyle programming for networks including MTV News, BET, NBC and OWN before moving into scripted work through web series. She is one of a small number of African-American women directing multi-camera scripted television and has also worked in single-camera projects.
Evans was selected for the CBS Directing Initiative and DGA mentoring programmes. In 2026 she was announced as director of the feature rom-com Switch.
