Biography
Mort Mills (born Mortimer Morris Kaplan, 11 January 1919 – 6 June 1993) was an American film and television actor. He appeared in more than 150 films and television episodes, often cast as a lawman or antagonist in westerns of the 1950s and 1960s.
He had a recurring role as Marshal Frank Tallman in the series Man Without a Gun (1957–1959) and played Sergeant Ben Landro in Perry Mason and Sheriff Fred Madden in The Big Valley. Mills appeared in supporting roles in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) and Torn Curtain (1966), and as Al Schwartz, District Attorney's Assistant, in Orson Welles's Touch of Evil (1958). He was a cousin of actress Mary Treen.
