Biography
Moses Znaimer is a Canadian media executive and occasional actor. Born in 1942 in Kulob, Tajikistan, then part of the Soviet Union, to Jewish parents of Polish and Latvian descent, he was educated at McGill University and Harvard University before beginning a career in broadcasting at the CBC.
Znaimer co-founded Citytv, Toronto’s first independent television station, in 1972 and later established MuchMusic. He has also acted in several films, including the role of Felix in Louis Malle’s Atlantic City (1980) and a voice part in Abraxas, Guardian of the Universe (1990). He heads ZoomerMedia and founded MZTV, a museum of television in Toronto.
