Biography
Mutsuko Erskine is an actor. She is known for playing Yuki Ishii-Peters, the mother of the central character Maya Ishii-Peters, in the Hulu series PEN15 (2019–2021), appearing in all 20 episodes. The role was written for her by her daughter, series co-creator and star Maya Erskine; Mutsuko had not previously worked in the industry.
She has also appeared as Beverly Ohashi in the miniseries Tiny Beautiful Things (2023) and as Hiromi in the short film Daughter in a Box (2025). Erskine has been married to musician Peter Erskine since 1987; they have two children, including Maya Erskine and editor Taichi Erskine.
