Biography

Nadim Carlsen is a Danish cinematographer. He graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 2011 and is a member of the Danish Society of Cinematographers (DFF).

Carlsen has worked frequently with directors Ali Abbasi and Isabella Eklöf. His credits include Border (2018) and Holy Spider (2022) for Abbasi, and Holiday (2018) and Kalak (2023) for Eklöf. He served as director of photography on episodes 8 and 9 of the HBO series The Last of Us (2023), also directed by Abbasi. Other notable credits include What Will People Say (2017), Shelley (2016) and Locust (2024).

Border won the Un Certain Regard award at Cannes. Carlsen received the Best Cinematography prize at the San Sebastián International Film Festival for Kalak.
