Biography
Nadine Ballot is a French actress. Born in 1941, she lived in West Africa from the age of four. In 1958, while a student at the lycée in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, she met filmmaker Jean Rouch; their conversation inspired his film La Pyramide humaine (1959), in which she played one of the principal roles.
She later studied in Paris. From May 1960 she took part in the filming of Chronique d'un été (1961), appearing alongside Marceline Loridan to interview passers-by. Rouch subsequently cast her as the central figure in La Punition (1962). Her other screen appearances include the segment Gare du Nord in Paris vu par… (1965) and Les Veuves de quinze ans (1964).
