Biography
Nancy Marie Pimental (born 31 May 1965) is an American writer and actress. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she graduated from Somerset High School in 1983 and from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1987 with a degree in chemical engineering. She later studied classical acting at a theatre conservatory in Boston before moving to Los Angeles, where she performed stand-up and improv comedy.
Pimental began her screenwriting career as a writer on the animated series South Park from 1998 to 2001. She wrote the screenplay for the 2002 romantic comedy The Sweetest Thing and co-hosted the Comedy Central game show Win Ben Stein's Money from 2000 to 2002. In 2010 she joined the writing staff of the Showtime series Shameless, serving as a writer and producer and later as an executive producer through its run until 2021. She has also written for The Mick (2017) and contributed to other television projects.
