Biography
Nancy Travis is an American actress. Born on 21 September 1961 in New York City, she studied drama at New York University and began her career in New York theatre, including work with the American Jewish Theater and the national tour of Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs. She is a founding member of the off-Broadway company Naked Angels.
Travis's screen breakthrough came with the role of Sylvia Bennington in 3 Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel 3 Men and a Little Lady (1990). She has appeared in films including Chaplin (1992), So I Married an Axe Murderer (1993) and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005), and played Barbara in Ordinary Angels (2024). On television she has had recurring and starring roles in series such as Desperate Housewives, How I Met Your Mother, The Kominsky Method and the long-running Last Man Standing.
