Biography
Naoko Otani is a Japanese actress. She made her screen debut in the 1968 film The Human Bullet while still a high school student. She gained early popularity for her lead role in the NHK Asadora series Nobuko to Obāchan (1969–70).
Her film credits include Zigeunerweisen (1980), Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (1985) as Mother, and The Land of Hope (2012) as Chieko Ono. She has also appeared in several taiga dramas on Japanese television, including Katsu Kaishū (1974) and Gunshi Kanbei (2014). Otani is married to actor Kôji Shimizu.
