Biography
Narayan Van Maele is a Luxembourgish cinematographer based in Ireland. He graduated from the National Film School at IADT Dublin in 2009 with first-class honours in cinematography.
His credits as director of photography include the features Gutland (2018), which premiered at TIFF and represented Luxembourg at the Oscars, You Are Not My Mother (2022), Double Blind (2024) and Fréwaka (2025). He worked on the Oscar-winning short An Irish Goodbye (2022) and the series Dublin Narcos (2023), for which he received a BAFTA nomination. He is IFTA-nominated for several films.
Van Maele has an upcoming credit as cinematographer on Soulm8te (2026).
