Biography
Nassar (born Muhammad Hanif, 5 March 1958) is an Indian actor, director and producer who works primarily in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema. He was born in Palur, Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu, and trained at the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce's Film Institute and the Tamil Nadu Institute for Film and Television Technology.
He made his acting debut in Kalyana Agathigal (1985) and gained recognition with his role in Mani Ratnam's Nayakan (1987). Nassar became a frequent collaborator with Ratnam and Kamal Haasan, appearing in films such as Thevar Magan (1992), Bombay (1995) and Kuruthipunal (1995). He is known for his performance as Bijjaladeva in Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017).
Since 2015 he has served as president of the Nadigar Sangam, the South Indian actors' association.
