Biography
Ned Sherrin (1931–2007) was an English broadcaster, author, stage director and occasional actor. Born Edward George Sherrin in Low Ham, Somerset, he read law at Oxford, qualified as a barrister and entered television in the mid-1950s. He produced the satirical series That Was The Week That Was (1962–63) and its successors, directed numerous West End productions including Side by Side by Sondheim, and presented BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends and Counterpoint.
Sherrin received a CBE in 1997 and an Olivier Award in 1984. He appeared as Mr Addison in the film Orlando (1992).
