Biography
Neil Athale is a British Asian film and television composer and music supervisor. Born in Yorkshire, he moved to London at the age of 18 and began his career as a session guitarist before transitioning into songwriting, production and film scoring.
His breakthrough feature score was for Wasteland (also known as The Rise, 2012), which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Subsequent credits include North v South (2015), Golden Years (2016), Gloves Off (2017), Strange but True (2019) and Twist (2021). He composed and supervised the music for Giant (2026), a boxing biopic directed by his brother Rowan Athale and starring Pierce Brosnan and Amir El-Masry.
