Biography
Nell Newman, also credited as Nell Potts or Elinor Teresa Newman, is an American former child actress, biologist and entrepreneur. Born on 8 April 1959 in New York City, she is the daughter of actors Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward.
She appeared as Rachel as a child in Rachel, Rachel (1968), directed by her father and starring her mother, and as Matilda Hunsdorfer in The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds (1972). She later graduated from the College of the Atlantic in 1987 with a degree in human ecology.
In 1993 Newman co-founded Newman's Own Organics, an organic food and pet food company, and has worked in environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture.
