Biography
Nellee Hooper is a British record producer, remixer, songwriter and composer. Born Paul Andrew Hooper on 15 March 1963 in Bristol, England, he began his career in the early 1980s as a percussionist with the band Maximum Joy and as a DJ with the Wild Bunch sound system, which later became Massive Attack.
He produced albums for artists including Soul II Soul, Sinéad O'Connor and Björk. Hooper made his debut as a film composer in 1996, co-composing the score for Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet with Craig Armstrong and Marius de Vries. The soundtrack won the BAFTA Anthony Asquith Award for Film Music in 1998. He has also received Grammy Awards and nominations for his production work.
