Biography
Nicholas Ma is a filmmaker and producer. He produced the documentary Won't You Be My Neighbor? (2018), directed by Morgan Neville, about the life and legacy of Fred Rogers. As a child, Ma appeared twice as himself on the television series Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.
Ma is the son of cellist Yo-Yo Ma. He is a graduate of Harvard College and previously worked for Senator John Kerry on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He later joined McKinsey & Company, leaving in 2014 as an Associate Partner. Ma has directed and written films including the shorts Echoes (2017) and Suite No. 1, Prelude (2019), as well as Leap of Faith (2024) and Mabel (2024).
