Biography

Nick Higgins is a cinematographer specialising in documentary films. He was the director of photography on the Academy Award-winning O.J.: Made in America (2016), directed by Ezra Edelman, and received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Cinematography for a Nonfiction Program for his work on the project.

Higgins grew up between Scotland and Saudi Arabia. He graduated with a BA in Business Studies from Napier University in 1990 and worked in the corporate sector, including selling aircraft engines in Hong Kong and Brazil, before pursuing filmmaking. He earned an MFA in Cinematography from the American Film Institute Conservatory in 2002.

His credits include First Position (2011), The Crash Reel (2013), Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind (2018) and Love, Gilda (2018). Several of his films have premiered at Sundance. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences documentary branch and is based in Los Angeles.
