Biography
Nikolaj Scherfig is a Danish screenwriter. Born in Copenhagen on 26 October 1961, he graduated from the screenwriting programme at the National Film School of Denmark in 1989.
He has written for numerous Danish television series and films. His credits include episodes of the crime series Rejseholdet (2000) and The Bridge (2011–2018), for which he contributed to the storyline and writing across multiple seasons. He has also written screenplays for Christmas calendars such as Jesus & Josefine (2003) and Mikkel og guldkortet (2008), and served as script consultant on features including Pusher (1996).
Scherfig worked as a film consultant at the Danish Film Institute from 2003 to 2006. He is the grandson of author Hans Scherfig.
