Biography
Nima Nourizadeh is a British-Iranian film, television, music video and commercial director. Born on 12 November 1977 in London, he graduated with a BA in Fine Art Film from Central Saint Martins. He began his career in the London alternative art scene, forming the collective The Imaginary Tennis Club with friends.
Nourizadeh has directed music videos for artists including Dizzee Rascal, Franz Ferdinand, Bat for Lashes, Santigold, Hot Chip, Yelle and Lily Allen, winning Best Director at the UK Music Video Awards in 2008. He has also directed commercials for Adidas. His feature films are Project X (2012) and American Ultra (2015). On television he has directed episodes of Little America (2020), The Wilds (2022), Gangs of London (2022), Warrior (2023), The Gentlemen (2024) and The Copenhagen Test (2025). He is the son of political activist Alireza Nourizadeh; his brothers are music producers Omid 16B and Navid.
