Biography
Nimer Rashed is a British director and writer. He began his career as a child actor, performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company and in television and theatre, before writing for stage and screen. He won the Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award at the International Emmy Awards.
Rashed trained on the BBC TV Directors Scheme. His short films include Baghdad Express, which featured Riz Ahmed and screened at festivals, and Touch, which won the Virgin Media Shorts Grand Prize. He has directed episodes of Casualty, EastEnders, The Good Karma Hospital, Miss Scarlet and the Duke, Fool Me Once (2024), Missing You (2025) and Run Away (2026). He is a member of BAFTA and Directors UK.
