Biography
Nora Fingscheidt is a German director and screenwriter. Born on 17 February 1983 in Braunschweig, she studied scenic directing at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy from 2008 to 2017.
She began making short films and documentaries in the early 2010s. Her documentary Without This World (2017) won the Max Ophüls Prize. Her first feature, System Crasher (2019), premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival, where it received the Alfred Bauer Prize, and won eight awards at the German Film Awards, including best picture, best screenplay and best director.
Fingscheidt directed the English-language feature The Unforgivable (2021), starring Sandra Bullock. She wrote and directed The Outrun (2024), an adaptation of Amy Liptrot's memoir.
