Biography
Norio Matsui was a Japanese actor born in Tokyo on 15 April 1951. He appeared in several films directed by Akira Kurosawa, including Kagemusha (1980) as Tadatsugu Sakai and Ran (1985) as Shumenosuke Ogura.
Matsui's other screen credits include Madadayo (1993), After the Rain (1999) and the television series Toshiie to Matsu (2002). He also provided voice work for animated projects such as Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad (2004) and Lupin the Third: Alcatraz Connection (2001). He died on 8 November 2023.
