Biography
Norman Stewart was a British television director and production assistant. Born in Canada, he joined the BBC as a production assistant and began working on Doctor Who in 1963 on its second serial, The Daleks.
He served as production assistant on numerous episodes across the first four Doctors, including Planet of Giants, The Web Planet, The Savages, The Underwater Menace, Day of the Daleks and The Invisible Enemy. Stewart later directed two serials for the Fourth Doctor: Underworld (1978) and The Power of Kroll (1978–1979).
His other directing credits include episodes of The Newcomers (1967–1969), The Omega Factor (1979) and Emmerdale Farm (1980). He also worked as a production manager on series such as Tenko. Stewart left the television industry in the mid-1980s and is now deceased.
