Biography
Nykiya Adams is a British child actress. She made her screen debut playing the lead role of Bailey in Andrea Arnold's 2024 drama Bird, opposite Barry Keoghan and Franz Rogowski. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
Adams, from Basildon in Essex, had previously appeared only in a school production of Matilda. She was cast after a workshop at her school and Arnold rewrote the script to suit her. She also appeared in the 2024 Fontaines D.C. music video for "Bug". Her performance in Bird earned nominations including the British Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Performance and the London Film Critics' Circle Award for Young British or Irish Performer.
