Biography
Octavia St. Laurent was an American model, performer and AIDS educator active in New York City's Black and Latino ballroom scene. She began walking in balls in 1982 and rose to wider attention after appearing in the documentary Paris Is Burning (1991).
She featured as herself in the 1993 short documentary Queen of the Underground and had a small acting role in the feature film The Saint of Fort Washington (1993). St. Laurent also appeared in the 2006 documentary How Do I Look. She died in 2009.
