Biography
Oliver Coates is a British cellist, film composer and electronic music producer. He trained at the Royal Academy of Music and has performed as principal cellist with ensembles including the London Contemporary Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra and London Sinfonietta.
His film scores include Aftersun (2022) and The History of Sound (2025). He has also composed for The Stranger (2022), Occupied City (2023), Foe (2023) and Pillion (2025), and contributed as a musician to scores by Mica Levi and Jonny Greenwood. Coates releases solo albums on RVNG Intl. and has collaborated with artists including Mica Levi, Arca and Radiohead.
