Biography
Oren Soffer is an Israeli-American cinematographer. Born in Haifa, Israel, on 2 July 1988, he graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA and was nominated for the American Society of Cinematographers Gordon Willis Student Heritage Award.
He is best known for serving as co-cinematographer, alongside Greig Fraser, on the science fiction film The Creator (2023), directed by Gareth Edwards. Other feature credits include Allswell in New York (2022) and Fixation (2022). He has also photographed numerous short films, including Opera of Cruelty (2017), which won a Student Academy Award. In 2024 he was included in Variety’s list of 10 Cinematographers to Watch. He has served as an adjunct professor at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
