Biography
Orto Ignatiussen was a Greenlandic actor and theatre director. Born in Skjoldungen in 1959, he trained at the Tuukkaq Theatre in Denmark and later founded the children's and youth theatre Qinngorniit in Greenland, receiving the Danish Children's Affairs Award in 2006.
He appeared in the films Ikíngut (2000) and Endless Night (2015), and worked as a production assistant on Eight Below (2006). He is best known internationally for voicing the character Aningaaq in Gravity (2013) and playing the role in the companion short film Aningaaq (2013).
Ignatiussen died in Tasiilaq in 2019.
