Biography
Oscar Martínez is an Argentine actor, author and theatre director. Born on 23 October 1949 in Buenos Aires, he trained at the Escuela Municipal de Arte Dramático and began his professional career in 1970. He has worked extensively in film, theatre and television in Argentina and Spain, where he is based.
Martínez is known for roles including Mauricio in Wild Tales (2014), Daniel Mantovani in The Distinguished Citizen (2016), for which he received the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival, Iván Torres in Official Competition (2021), and Emilio in Live Twice, Love Once (2019). He has received multiple Konex awards, including the Konex de Platino for film and theatre work, and other honours such as Cóndor de Plata and Sur awards.
