Biography
Pablo Alvarez-Mesa, also credited as Pablo Alvarez-Mesa, is a filmmaker, cinematographer, editor and director working primarily in non-fiction. He is based in Montreal and of Colombian origin.
His cinematography credits include Fire of Love (2022), directed by Sara Dosa, which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Feature. He has also served as cinematographer on films such as Landfall (2020) and Adrianne & the Castle (2024). As a director, his works include the short Bicentenario (2020) and the feature La Laguna del Soldado (2024).
His films have screened at festivals including Berlinale, IFFR, Viennale and RIDM. He is a Sundance Documentary Fund grantee and an alumnus of Berlinale Talents, the Banff Centre for the Arts and the Canadian Film Centre.
