Biography
Pam Tait is a British costume designer who has worked in film, television and theatre. Her film credits include Erik the Viking (1989), Straight to Hell (1987), Walker (1987), Let Him Have It (1991), Beautiful Thing (1996), The Acid House (1998) and Divorcing Jack (1998). She has also designed costumes for television series such as Queer as Folk (1999) and In a Land of Plenty (2001).
Tait began her career in theatre, working at the Royal Court Theatre in the early 1980s, where she designed the premiere production of Top Girls (1982) and served as assistant costume designer on the film Sid and Nancy (1986). Later credits include work at the National Theatre and various London stage productions. From around 2000 she taught at the University of Bristol’s Department of Drama, serving as a teaching fellow until 2016, while continuing occasional design work in film, television and dance.
