Biography
Pamela Britton (born Armilda Jane Owens) was an American actress. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on 19 March 1923, she died on 17 June 1974. Her mother, Ethel Owen, was a stage, radio and early television actress. Britton attended State Teacher's Normal School in Milwaukee and began her career in stage productions.
She appeared in the original Broadway production of Oklahoma! (as Gertie and understudy to Celeste Holm) and later took over the role of Ado Annie on tour. She played Meg Brockie in the Broadway production of Brigadoon (1947). Her first major film role was as the Girl from Brooklyn in Anchors Aweigh (1945). She is also known for her performance as Paula Gibson in D.O.A. (1949) and as Lorelei Brown in the television series My Favorite Martian (1963–1966).
