Biography

Paolo Bonfini is an Italian production designer. Born in Mentana in 1964, he graduated in 1984 and began his career in the United States as creative director of a film production company. He made his debut as a scenographer in 1997 and has collaborated frequently with director Matteo Garrone since the early 2000s.

He is known for his work on films including Gomorrah (2008), The Embalmer (2002) and Reality (2012). Bonfini has received two Ciak d'oro awards for best production design, for The Embalmer and Reality, along with nominations for the David di Donatello and Nastro d'Argento.
