Biography
Paris Lees is an English writer, broadcaster and campaigner. She wrote and created the eight-part BBC Three series What It Feels Like for a Girl (2025), adapted from her own 2021 memoir of the same name, and served as executive producer. She also appears in the series as The Shaman.
Lees was born in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. She began her career in journalism, writing for publications including Gay Times, The Guardian and British Vogue, where she was the first trans columnist. She has presented on BBC Radio 1 and Channel 4, and appeared in earlier television including Boy Meets Girl (2015). The series received five BAFTA Television Award nominations, including for Lees in the Writer: Drama category.
