Biography
Pat Thomson, also credited as Patricia Elizabeth Thomson or Pat Thompson, was an English-born Australian actress. She worked in Sydney theatre, appearing as Goneril in King Lear and in Clowneroonies by Geoffrey Rush, and had television roles including Doris in the series Boys from the Bush (1991).
She is best known for playing Shirley Hastings in the 1992 film Strictly Ballroom. Thomson also appeared as Sandra Kambouris in Evil Angels (1988). She posthumously won the AFI Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Strictly Ballroom.
