Biography
Pater Sparrow is a Hungarian production designer and director. Born Zoltán Verebes on 17 January 1978 in Budapest, he is the son of actor and director István Verebes and actress Éva Héczey. He trained at the London Film School, graduating as a director with a production design distinction.
Sparrow is known for his production design on films including The Duke of Burgundy (2014), Well (2016), The Field Guide to Evil (2019) and Semmelweis (2023). He also directed, wrote and designed the 2009 feature 1, which received multiple awards at the Hungarian Film Week. He has worked on numerous Hungarian and international productions, often based in Budapest.
