Biography

Patricia Brake was an English actress. Born Patricia Ann Brake on 25 June 1942 in Bath, Somerset, she trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School from the age of 16 and began her career at Salisbury Playhouse in 1960. She later joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Brake was best known for playing Ingrid Fletcher, the daughter of Ronnie Barker’s character, in the BBC sitcom Porridge (1974–1977) and its sequel Going Straight (1978). Her other television credits include a long-running role in Eldorado (1992–1993), appearances in EastEnders (2004) and Coronation Street (2005–2006), and guest roles in series such as Midsomer Murders, Casualty and Truth Seekers. She died on 28 May 2022.
