Biography

Patricia Lovell was an Australian film producer and actress. Born in 1929 in Artarmon, Sydney, she began her career in radio at the ABC in the early 1950s and later appeared on television, including as Miss Pat on the children's programme Mr Squiggle. She presented on the Sydney Today show, where she met director Peter Weir.

Lovell produced or executive produced several notable Australian films, including Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975), Summerfield (1977) and Gallipoli (1981). She later served as Head of Producing at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School from 1996 to 2003. She received an MBE and an AM, and the Raymond Longford Award from the Australian Film Institute in 2004.

Lovell died on 26 January 2013.
